About Neal Broten
Neal Broten is a former professional hockey player in the National Hockey League. Broten began his competitive career when he was in college where he scored 21 goals and was named the WCHA Rookie of the Year. He also helped lead his team to the NCAA Championship, which makes him one of just a select few who can say they have won an NCAA Championship, an Olympic Gold Medal in 1980, and the Stanley Cup Finals. Neal began playing in the NHL in 1980 and his career spanned over the next 17 seasons. He has since been selected to be a part of two All-Star games, and has the distinction of being the first American to score more than 100 points in a single NHL season in 1985. Since his retirement from playing he has kept busy working alongside his wife operating the Sally Broten Horse Company and he has been enshrined in the US Hockey Hall of Fame.
