Miles Mikolas Biography

Miles Mikolas' road to becoming an All-Star is certainly an inspiring journey. Mikolas was originally a seventh-round draft pick of the San Diego Padres in the 2009 MLB Draft. He started his career as a reliever and made his debut with the Padres in 2012. After two years with San Diego, he joined the Texas Rangers as a starter in 2014, but was released and came back into professional baseball in Japan with the Yomiuri Giants from 2015-17. Mikolas honed his craft, going 31-13 with a 2.18 ERA while making 62 starts in Japan. 

The St. Louis Cardinals took notice, bringing Mikolas back to the big league in 2018. He responded by making his first All-Star team and tieing for the National League lead in wins. Overall, Mikolas went 18-4 with a 2.83 ERA.
