About Mike Scioscia
Mike Scioscia is the former manager for 19 seasons with the Los Angeles Angels. Scioscia was a two-time American League Manager of the Year and won the World Series in 2002. Overall, he compiled a 1,650-1,428 record as Angels skipper. The club made seven postseason appearances and won six AL West Division titles under his watch. Scioscia also had a prodigious playing career and ironically also spent it with just one team, the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers selected Scioscia in the 1st round and the 19th overall pick in the 1976 amateur draft. He made his Major League debut with the Dodgers on April 20, 1980 and he spent 12 years playing with the team. During his time with the Dodgers, Scioscia was a two-time All-Star and a two-time World Series champion. After his playing career ended, Scioscia spent several seasons as a minor league manager and a major league coach in the Dodgers’ organization.
