About Michael Cage
Michael Cage was a valuable forward through his 15 NBA seasons. Cage led the league in rebounding in 1988 with 13 boards per game for the Los Angeles Clippers. He just edged Charles Oakley out for the title in the final game of the season by pulling down 30 rebounds. His career was built on his value as a rim protector for teams. The 14th overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft was a star at San Diego State. Cage is still second in Aztecs’ history in career scoring and the all-time leading rebounder. The two-time Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year was a consensus second-team All-American in 1984. Cage is currently the analyst for Oklahoma City Thunder games on Fox Sports Oklahoma. He has also done broadcasting work for the Memphis Grizzlies, Fox Sports West, Prime Ticket, and Westwood One radio. As a coach at California power Mater Dei High School, Cage won back-to-back state titles in 2013 and 2014. The Michael Cage Foundation still actively reaches out to youth by providing them with fun academic and sports programs.
