About Brendan Haywood
Brendan Haywood is a retired NBA champion, a North Carolina Tar Heels legend, and a basketball commentator. He starred in Chapel Hill, helping the Tar Heels reach the 2000 Final Four, before being drafted 20th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2001. Haywood spent 13 NBA seasons, primarily with the Washington Wizards after his draft rights were traded, plus stints with the Dallas Mavericks, where he won an NBA Championship in 2011, and final stops in Charlotte and Portland. He averaged 6.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game over 816 games. Since retiring from the league, Haywood is a basketball analyst, serving as a color commentator for Wizards broadcasts on Monumental Sports Network and contributing to NBATV, Peacock College Hoops, and other media outlets.
