About Melky Cabrera

Melky Cabrera has had a solid major league career and now mans the outfield for the Chicago White Sox. Cabrera was an All-Star with the San Francisco Giants in 2012 and won the MVP Award for the game, going 2-3 with two RBI. His breakout season with the Kansas City Royals had come just a year earlier. Cabrera hit .305 with 18 home runs, 87 RBI, and 20 stolen bases. That showed persistence following a season with the Atlanta Braves where he struggled and was ultimately released. Cabrera originally came up with the New York Yankees and spent the first five seasons of his career in pinstripes. In his final New York season, the Yankees won the World Series. The Bronx Bombers signed Cabrera at the age of 17 out of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
