About Max Starks
Max Starks was born on January 10, 1982 in Orlando, Florida. Starks attended Orlando Christian School from sixth through eighth grade where he played basketball and volleyball. When he was in eighth grade, Starks wore size 15 shoes and when he had a hard time finding them in his size he would borrow shoes from Shaquille O’Neal. After high school, Starks attended the University of Florida on an athletic scholarship and played football from 2000-2003. While with the Gators, Starks was a SEC Champion, and named to the First-team All-SEC. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Starks in the 3rd round as the 75th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. He is among one of the largest NFL players standing at 6’8”, 370 pounds and wearing a size 19 shoe. He won Super Bowl XL and XLII with the Steelers as well as being a 3x AFC Champion and Ed Block Courage Award winner in 2011. Starks has also played with the San Diego Chargers, St. Louis Rams, and the Arizona Cardinals, all for a short time.
