About Marty McSorley
Marty McSorley is a former Canadian professional ice hockey player who may be remembered playing for a variety of teams. Born in 1963, McSorley made his professional debut at age 20 with the Pittsburg Penguins. As a defensive player and a right wing, he continued to play professional hockey for seventeen years. Throughout those seventeen years, the Pittsburg Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, San Jose Sharks, and Boston Bruins all got a taste of McSorley’s talents. Unfortunately, McSorley had a temper that got the best of him in a game in 2000 and ultimately led to his suspension from the NHL. While also having a background in the film and television industry, he has appeared in four movies since 1995. McSorley gave back to the sport he loves by serving as the Springfield Falcons coach of the American Hockey League between 2002 and 2004.
