Mark O'Meara

Mark O’Meara, a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, was one of the most dominant golfers in the world during his time on the PGA Tour. O’Meara was born in North Carolina in 1957 but spent the majority of his childhood in southern California, taking up golf at the country club in his town at the young age of thirteen. O’Meara attended Long Beach State University and graduated with a marketing degree in 1980.

That same year, he debuted professionally on the PGA Tour and received his first of sixteen tour wins in 1984 at the Greater Milwaukee Open. Throughout his professional career, O’Meara’s most successful year was 1998 by a landslide, during which he received the title of PGA Player of the Year, PGA Tour Player of the Year, and captured two major titles at the Masters and The Open Championship.

O’Meara proceeded to tally a total of thirty-four professional wins and continues to golf on the Champions Tour to this day. In addition, he has begun to develop a golf course design practice and is currently a brand ambassador for Pacific Links International.
