Mark Murphy

Mark Murphy, once a professional football himself, is currently the CEO and President of the Green Bay Packers. Born and raised in New York in the late 1950’s through the early ‘60’s, Murphy attended Colgate University in Hamilton, New York where he was a member of a fraternity and of the football team. Although undrafted, Murphy debuted professionally in the NFL with the Washington Redskins in 1977, with whom he played for until 1984. Throughout his eight seasons with the Redskins, Murphy was simultaneously working towards an MBA from American University’s Kogod School of Business, which he received in 1983. After retiring from his position as a safety in the NFL, Murphy went on to become the athletic director at his alma mater, Colgate University, and later at Northwestern University. In 2007, Murphy was offered the job as the Green Bay Packer’s Chief Executive Officer and President and graciously accepted. Since, he has won a Super Bowl with his team (XLV) in 2011.
