About Marc Priestley
Marc Priestley is a former Formula One race mechanic and pit-crew member for McLaren Racing, where he worked from 2000 to 2009. During his tenure, he collaborated with world champions such as Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Räikkönen, Mika Häkkinen, and Jenson Button, executing high-pressure pit stops. Following his time at McLaren, Priestley served as Race Team Manager for the FIA Formula Two Championship. He later transitioned to broadcasting and television, co-presenting "Wheeler Dealers", providing F1 commentary and pit-lane reporting for the BBC, Sky Sports, and other networks, and hosting the “Pitlane Life” Lessons podcast. Priestley is the author of “The Mechanic: The Secret World of the F1 Pitlane” (2017) and “Pitlane Lessons” (2025). Today, he is a sought-after keynote speaker and consultant, sharing insights on teamwork, leadership, high performance under pressure, and decision-making, all drawn from his F1 experience. He also serves as Director of High Performance Engineering at Flexegraph and voices the race engineer in official F1 video games.
