Manti Te’o is a former NFL linebacker and college star at Notre Dame.Te’o was drafted in the second round in 2013 and is one of the most promising linebackers in football. During his senior year at Notre Dame, he won numerous awards for his on-field and off-field impact.Te’o finished Heisman runner-up and won the Maxwell, Chuck Bednarik, Bronko Nagurski, Butkus, Lombardi, and Walter Camp Awards.That season, the Irish had an undefeated regular season and lost to Alabama in the National Championship. He was also honored as a first-team Academic All-American while winning the Lott Trophy, Senior CLASS Award, and the ARA Sportsmanship Award.As one of the most highly publicized athletes in the country, Te’o also had to overcome a scandal where a close friend had scammed him with a fake girlfriend over the Internet.He is one of the most notable athletes in the history of Hawaii, leading the famed Punahou School to their first state football championship.
