About Ma'ake Kemoeatu
Ma'ake Kemoeatu played ten seasons at defensive tackle in the NFL. In his final season, Kemoeatu won his first Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens. Prior to that campaign, he had been out of football for a year, but worked hard to revive his career. Significant weight loss led to him winning the starting nose tackle job and starting 13 games. Kemoeatu originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Ravens in 2002, but also played for the Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins. He was a three-year starter at Utah and had nine sacks in his collegiate career. Kemoeatu was born in Tonga, but grew up in Hawaii. His younger brother, Chris, was a two-time Super Bowl winning offensive lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2014, Ma’ake gave Chris a kidney.
