Lydia Ko Biography

Lydia Ko is one of the top female golfers in the world. Amazingly, she first reached the top spot on the World Golf Rankings as a 17 year old in 2015. Later that year, she became the youngest player to win a major at 18 with her triumph at The Evian Championship. Ko has won the ANA Inspiration as well and had top five finishes in each of the other three women's majors. She is the first LPGA Tour player to win at least $2 million in each of her first three seasons. After turning pro in 2013, Ko became the youngest woman to win a professional golf event and LPGA tournament. In 2014, she was named LPGA Rookie of the Year and she was LPGA Tour Player of the Year in 2015. Ko was named Best Female Golfer at the ESPYs in 2015 and 2016. From 2013-15, she was named New Zealand Sportswoman of the Year. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, Ko won a silver medal for her country.
