About Lawrence Tynes
Lawrence Tynes is a Scottish-born American football placekicker who is currently a free agent. Tynes attended Troy University and was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2001 as an undrafted free agent. Tynes spent his first two seasons on the Chiefs’ practice squad. He then spent 2002 with the Scottish Claymores. After leaving the Claymores, Tynes signed with the Ottawa Renegades of the Canadian Football League. In 2004, Tynes resigned with the Chiefs as the full-time kicker. The Giants signed Tynes in 2007 where he remained until 2012. During his time with the Giants, Tynes helped the Giants defeat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. In 2011, Tynes received his second championship title as the Giants defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. Tynes signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on July 17, 2013 but was then released on March 11, 2014.
