About Kevin Ollie
Kevin Ollie has had tremendous success in coaching after a lengthy playing career in pro basketball. Ollie's crowning achievement was taking his alma mater, UConn, to victory in the National Championship in his second season on the job in 2014. The Huskies went 32-8 overall.
Before assuming the top job, Ollie spent two seasons as an assistant on Jim Calhoun's staff. He had played for Calhoun in college, becoming a third-team All-Big East selection in 1995.
Ollie then embarked on a pro career, where he played for 12 NBA teams from 1997 to 2010.
Ollie had the top job at UConn through the 2017-18 season. After a few years away from the game, he took over the top basketball development program Overtime Elite in 2021.
That opportunity would serve as a launching pad back into the NBA. Ollie became an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets in 2023 and was named interim head coach in his first season.
