Keith Brooking

Keith Brooking played linebacker at Georgia Tech and soon became the leading tackler in school history with 467 career stops.  He was voted a permanent captain by his teammates and became a top tackler in the ACC in 1995.  He ranked second in the conference in 1996 with 13.4 tackles per game.  Brooking was the 12th overall selection in the 1998 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons and quickly found a spot on their defensive line.  In his rookie season, Brooking served as the team nickel linebacker throughout the season.  He was named to the Pro Bowl for the 2000 season; the first Falcon to  go to the Pro Bowl since 1998.  In 2006 Brooking led the team with 165 tackles for the sixth year in a row.  The Dallas Cowboys signed Brooking after he became a free agent in 2009.  He became well known in the Dallas community for his on-field speeches and emotional support to his teammates.  He helped lead the Cowboys to an NFC East Championship game in 2010 but were beaten out by Brett Farve and the Minnesota Twins.  When his contract was up in 2012, Brooking signed a one year deal with the Denver Broncos.  He now lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and two sons.
