Keith Allain Biography

Keith Allain played on the Yale Men’s ice hockey team for whom he is now the coach.  Allain was an assistant coach for the Washington Capitals from 1993-1997.  After that he worked as the goaltending coach for the St. Louis Blues for eight years.  During this time, Allain was also the assistant coach to the US Men’s National Ice Hockey Team in the 1992 and 2006 Olympics.  He was awarded the 2008-2009 Tim Taylor Award as ECAC Hockey’s Coach of the Year after Yale finished the season with 24 wins and a number five national ranking.  From 2008-2011 Allain led the Bulldogs to the best win percentage in Division I teams during that time at .752.  In 2013 he coached the Yale Bulldogs to win the NCAA Men’s Hockey National Championship.  In his eight seasons as the head coach for Yale, Allain has accumulated 155 wins, and just 95 losses.  Under Allain’s coaching, Yale has won two ECAC Hockey Tournament Championships and five Ivy League Championships.
