About Kara Wolters
Kara Wolters is a University of Connecticut (UConn) basketball legend and Olympic gold medalist. Nicknamed "Big Girl," she is the tallest player in UConn women's basketball history. She helped win the program's first NCAA national championship in 1995, earned AP National College Player of the Year honors in 1997, and holds school records for career rebounds and blocked shots. She was inducted into the Huskies of Honor in 2006. Professionally, Wolters was drafted by the Houston Comets in 1999, contributing to their WNBA championship that year, and played in the league until 2003. Internationally, she won Olympic gold in 2000, FIBA World Championship gold in 1998, and other titles, becoming one of the few women to achieve NCAA, WNBA, FIBA World, and Olympic championships. Inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017, she now serves as an in-studio analyst for UConn women's basketball on SNY, runs Dream Big Basketball Camps, and is a motivational speaker.
