About Kaitlyn Farrington
Kaitlyn Farrington was born and raised in Idaho and grew up riding horses on her family ranch. Eventually she took up the sport of snowboarding, and credits her smooth style and solid balance to her experience riding horses. At an early age she took up skiing and eventually discovered her niche in snowboarding. In 2008 she won silver at the Junior World Championships at the age of 17, and followed that up with a Dew Tour title and X Games Europe gold medal in the halfpipe in 2010. Since that time she has won silver at the 2011 Winter X Games and bronze at the 2014 Winter X Games in the SuperPipe, and gold in the halfpipe at the 2014 Sochi Olympic games. Farrington is a fearless competitor with a style all-her own. As the first female rider to ever perform a backside 900, she is a revolutionary in the sport and is known for her epic airs and tricks on the halfpipe and superpipe.
