About Julius Thomas
Julius Thomas played both football and basketball at Portland State University. Although he played only one season on the football team, he displayed uncanny ability at the tight end position and reigned in 29 catches for 453 yards in route to earning first team All-Big Sky honors. On the basketball court he was a four-year starter and earned Big Sky All-Tournament team honors in both 2008 and 2009 while leading his team to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. After averaging 10.8 points on the hardwood in 2010 he chose to pursue a career on the gridiron, signing with the Broncos after being selected in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. During his first three seasons in the league he has caught 109 passes for 1,282 yards and 24 touchdowns. In 2013 and 2014 he earned consecutive Pro Bowl honors and became the first tight end in NFL history to record at least 12 touchdowns in back-to-back seasons.
