Jordan Stolz

Speed-skating prodigy Jordan Stolz competes with Team Albert Heijn Zaanlander on the World Cup circuit as a professional athlete. At age five Jordan Stolz became interested in speed skating after watching Apolo Ohno and Shani Davis before developing his skills on a backyard pond before joining elite clubs including Badger Speed Skating and the Wisconsin Speed Skating Club.

At the age of 17 he became the youngest member of the U.S. Olympic team in long-track competition where he finished 13th in 500m and 14th in 1000m at Beijing 2022. During March 2023 Stolz made history as the youngest single-distance world champion when he won gold in the 500m event at Heerenveen and he successfully won all three events including 500m, 1000m and 1500m which he duplicated in 2024. In 2024 he obtained the World Allround title by setting a new world-record samalog score of 144.740 points which became the highest since Eric Heiden achieved it in 1978.

Stolz has established four junior world records and set new senior world bests in the 1,000 m and big combination. Stolz broke all the U.S. sea-level bests in the 500 m, 1,000 m and 1,500 m distances during his dominant World Cup weekend in Milwaukee at the beginning of 2025.

Stolz received the prestigious Oscar Mathisen Trophy in both 2023 and 2024 joining Eric Heiden and Shani Davis as members of this exclusive group. The 18 successive World Cup victories he achieved across different distances during 2024–25 have helped him transform speed skating standards.

Off‑ice Stolz dedicates his time to intense training which includes 18 hours of road cycling per week together with strength training and elevation training camps. He attributes his fast rise to his lifelong coach Bob Corby and his family who provided constant support by making daily 90-minute commutes during his youth.

In his early twenties Jordan Stolz stands as one of the best speed skaters in United States history while extending the legacy of Wisconsin's skating heroes through his outstanding achievements and record-breaking results.
