About John Hart
John Hart is the former president of baseball operations for the Atlanta Braves. He originally joined the franchise as an advisor following the 2013 season. Hart spent time as the general manager of the Texas Rangers from 2001-05. He was also a senior advisor for the franchise following that stint. Hart experiences his greatest success with the Cleveland Indians. He originally joined the organization as a special assignment scout in 1989. He rose to director of baseball operations before being named general manager in 1991. Hart served in that role for the next decade and the Indians went 870-681. They won the American League in 1995 and 1997. Hart was named Sporting News Major League Executive of the Year in 1994 and 1995. He began his pro baseball career on the coaching side. Hart was a minor league manager for the Baltimore Orioles and became the team's major league third base coach in 1988. Hart played three seasons of minor league baseball before coaching high school baseball in Orlando, Florida.
