About John Barr
John Barr is one of the most respected reporters at ESPN. Barr started with ESPN in 2003 and currently works on breaking stories for a range of platforms on the network. He is especially vital to the award-winning news and information program Outside the Lines. Barr’s OTL report on human trafficking around the 2010 World Cup won a National Edward R. Murrow Award. As a local news reporter, he won eight Emmy Awards. Barr had stops in Minneapolis, Baltimore, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Terre Haute, Indiana, Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and Bloomington, Indiana before arriving at ESPN. He got his Masters Degree in journalism from Indiana University and did his undergraduate work at the University of Toronto. Barr is originally from London, Ontario, Canada, but now resides in Philadelphia
