Joe Musgrove Biography

Joe Musgrove is a pitcher for the San Diego Padres who threw the first no-hitter in franchise history in 2021. The Toronto Blue Jays originally selected him in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft. He was traded to the Astros in 2012. Musgrove made his major league debut in August 2015 and struck out eight over 4.1 innings. He made 11 starts during his rookie season and finished with a 4-4 record and 4.06 ERA. Musgrove was a spot starter again in 2017, going 7-8 with a 4.77 ERA. He made the Astros postseason roster and pitched in four World Series games. Houston won their first world championship in seven games over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
