About Joe Micheletti
Joe Micheletti was a member of the 1974 and 1976 NCAA National Championship hockey teams at the University of Minnesota. During his time at Minnesota he broke school records in assists and points and was named the MVP of the 1976 NCAA Finals. In 1974 the Montreal Canadiens selected him with the 123rd overall pick in the NHL Draft, but he’d begin his career in the World Hockey Association with the Calgary Cowboys in 1977. After a five-year professional career and representing the USA at the 1982 Ice Hockey World Championships he became a sideline reporter and color analyst for Fox, ABC, ESPN and NBC’s coverage of the NHL. During his time as a reporter he has covered multiple winter Olympic games, including the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Olympics. He has also served as the lead color analyst for the Minnesota North Stars, St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers.
