About Joe Bowen
Joe Bowen is a legendary Canadian sportscaster, best known as "the voice" of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He began calling Leafs games in 1982, delivering passionate radio and television play-by-play for over 44 years and more than 3,000 matches. Famous for his enthusiastic exclamations like "Holy Mackinaw!" and unabashed passion for the Leafs, he became an iconic figure for generations of Toronto hockey fans. A Hockey Hall of Fame inductee, he announced his retirement following the 2025-26 season. The club honored him with a farewell ceremony in December 2025, renaming the Scotiabank Arena broadcast booth "Bowen's Booth" and presenting a commemorative golden microphone. His illustrious career has left an enduring mark on NHL broadcasting.
