About Jack Michaels
Jack Michaels is an American hockey play-by-play announcer best known as the voice of the Edmonton Oilers. A graduate of Ithaca College, he began his career in minor league and independent baseball before spending eight seasons as the radio/TV voice of the ECHL's Alaska Aces, earning Broadcaster of the Year honors twice. Michaels joined the Oilers in 2010 as the radio play-by-play announcer. In 2021, he transitioned to the lead TV role on Sportsnet and 630 CHED radio, becoming the only American ever to serve as the primary NHL play-by-play voice for a Canadian team. Renowned for his energetic, passionate calls and deep hockey knowledge, he has become a fan favorite in Edmonton.
