Jim McGovern Biography

Jim McGovern is a professional golfer who has six wins worldwide.  McGovern was a mainstay on the PGA Tour from 1991-98.  His first and only victory on the Tour came at the 1993 Shell Houston Open.  That win and two other top-ten finishes catapulted him to a career-best 27th on the money list.  The following season, McGovern had his best finish in a major, a tie for fifth at The Masters.  Since then, he has mostly played on the Nationwide Tour, but did rejoin the PGA Tour in 2008.  In 2011, McGovern became the top golf pro at White Beaches Golf & Country Club.  He still actively plays events, but his last time as a full-time competitor was 2009. He did qualify for the 2014 PGA Championship through the PGA Professional National Championship.
