Jerry Narron

Jerry Narron played nine seasons in the major leagues as a catcher with the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, California Angels and Seattle Mariners from 1979 to 1987. After retiring as a player he took up coaching and managed in the Baltimore Orioles minor league system from 1989 to 1992, until being hired as bench coach for the Orioles in 1993. After two seasons with the Orioles he headed south to the Texas Rangers and served as their third base coach from 1995 to 2001. During the 2001 season he was named the interim manager of the Rangers, and would go on to manage the team in 2002. During the 2003 and 2004 seasons he served as the bench coach for the Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds before being hired as the Reds interim manager in 2005. Narron managed the Reds from 2005 to 2007, and then returned to the Rangers as a special assignments scout and front office consultant in 2008.
