About Jay Onrait
Jay Onrait is perhaps the most well-recognized Canadian sports broadcaster. Onrait currently hosts Jay on SC on TSN and he became best known as the co-anchor of the 1 am. Sportscentre. For a decade, he hosted that show with Dan O'Toole. The Onrait-O'Toole team became so popular that they werebrought over from Canada in 2013 as one of the initial hires for Fox Sports 1 to anchor their nightly highlights show, Fox Sports Live. In addition to their TV work, the duo also hosted a popular podcast titled, the Jay and Dan Podcast.
Onrait won a Canadian Gemini Award for Best Sportscaster in 2011. He actually began his media career at TSN in 1996 as an editorial assistant while still at Ryerson University. Onrait would go on to be the sports director at CFSK-TV in Saskatoon. He also hosted The Big Breakfast on Winnipeg's A-Channel for two years and was a top host at the NHL Network prior to rejoining TSN in 2002. Onrait has written two books. His autobiography is called "Anchorboy: True Tales From the World of Sportscasting"and the follow-up is titled "Number Two: More Short Tales From a Very Tall Man."
