James Farrior

James Farrior played 15 seasons in the NFL and is best known for his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2002 to 2011.  In 1997 he joined the NFL as a member of the New York Jets after a standout career at the University of West Virginia.  During his senior year he paced the Cavaliers with 107 tackles and 6.5 sacks on his way to earning First-Team All-ACC honors.  After earning his degree in psychology in four years he was selected by the Jets in the 1st round of the 1997 NFL Draft.  Although he was a valuable contributor to the Jets defense from 1997 to 2001 he really came into his own as a member of the Steelers.  In 2003 he set a career high with 141 tackles, and would go on to finish as the runner up for NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2004 after recording 94 tackles, three sacks and four interceptions.  In 2011 Farrior retired a Steeler having recorded 1,412 tackles, 11 interceptions, 18 forced fumbles and 35.5 sacks.  Although he enjoyed his individual success on the field, he is most proud of the fact that he helped the Steelers franchise to two Super Bowl titles and three AFC Championships.
