Jacques Lemaire Biography

Jacques Lemaire, known for his time and talent dedicated to the sport of hockey, was both a former player and coach. After growing up in Canada throughout the 1940’s and ‘50’s, Lemaire played the entirety of his twelver-year NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens. As a player, he set a record as one of only six NHL players to have scored two Stanley Cup winning goals, both in 1977 and 1979. Proving to be an extremely consistent player, Lemaire also scored a minimum of twenty goals in each of his twelve seasons. He went on to become a coach and a manager after retiring from the sport as a player. Lemaire even served as an assistant for Team Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. He last coached with the New Jersey Devils in the NHL in 2009 and will forever go down in history as one of hockey’s most influential people.
