About Herb Sendek
Herb Sendek is a college basketball coach who has had success everywhere he has been over nearly three decades. Sendek has been named Coach of the Year in the Mid-American Conference, ACC and Pac-12. After playing college basketball at Carnegie Mellon, he got his coaching start under Rick Pitino at Providence and Kentucky. Sendek was named a head coach for the first time at Miami (OH) in 1993 and proceeded to record three seasons with at least 19 wins and one NCAA Tournament berth. He moved on to NC State and the Wolfpack made the NCAAs in each of his final five seasons. Building off that success, Sendek moved on to Arizona State in 2006. The Sun Devils had five 20-win seasons and two NCAA tourney appearances in his nine seasons on the job. Sendek is currently the head coach at Santa Clara, a job he has held since 2016.
