Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire is an English professional soccer player who plays as a center-back for Manchester United in the Premier League and represents the England national team. Raised in Mosborough, South Yorkshire, he attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Primary School and St Mary's Roman Catholic High School in Chesterfield.

Maguire began his career at Sheffield United, progressing through their youth system as a central midfielder before transitioning to center-back. He debuted for the first team in April 2011 against Cardiff City, earning Man of the Match. He made 166 appearances for Sheffield United, was named Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons, and featured in the PFA Team of the Year for League One. In 2014, he joined Hull City with a loan period at Wigan Athletic in 2015. He moved to Leicester City in 2017, playing every minute of the 2017–18 season and earning Player of the Season honors.

In 2019, Manchester United signed him for a world-record fee for a defender. He became club captain in January 2020, a role he held until 2023. Internationally, Maguire debuted for England in 2017, played in the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups, and was part of the UEFA Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament. He scored his first England goal in a 2–0 win over Sweden in the 2018 World Cup quarter-final.
