Greg Olsen Biography

At the University of Miami Greg Olsen was considered to be the best tight end in college football. After earning All-American honors and earning the John Mackey Award as the top tight end in the nation he was selected in the 1st round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. Upon joining the Bears in 2007 he proved to be a valuable commodity and an offensive weapon in short down situations. In 2011 he joined the Carolina Panthers and quickly became one of the best tight ends in the NFL. He made three straight Pro Bowls from 2014-16 and became the first tight end to record three straight 1,000-yard seasons. Olsen also helped the Panthers reach Super Bowl 50. Over the next several seasons he struggled with injuries, but signed as a free agent contract with the Seattle Seahawks leading into the 2020 campaign.
