About Gary Andersen
Gary Andersen is a former head football coach in college football. Andersen attended Ricks College in 1984 where he played football and earned first-team junior college All-America honors. In 1985, Andersen transferred to the University of Utah where he lettered in football for two years. After graduating from Utah, Andersen served as the offensive coordinator for Southeastern Louisiana. He also coached at Ricks College, Idaho State, Park City High School, Northern Arizona, the University of Utah, and Southern Utah.
In 2009, Andersen became the head coach at Utah State University. His final year at Utah State was his most successful. In December 2012, Andersen went to the University of Wisconsin. Andersen led the Badgers to the 2014 Big Ten Championship Game, but the Badgers fell to Ohio State. On December 10, 2014, it was announced that Andersen was now the head coach at Oregon State University.After three seasons leading the Beavers, he took over the Utah State program again in 2019.
