Frank Reich Biography

Frank Reich is the head coach of the Carolina Panthers. Reich was a longtime NFL backup quarterback but had some shining moments in the league.  In the 1993 playoffs, he rallied the Buffalo Bills back from down 35-3 to win 41-38 in overtime over the Houston Oilers.  The Bills would also start Reich the following week and defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers 23-7 before Jim Kelly returned for the Super Bowl.   The Carolina Panthers selected him in the 1995 expansion draft and he started the first three games in franchise history.  Reich also played a season with the New York Jets and two seasons with the Detroit Lions before hanging it up. He would get his coaching start a decade later in 2008 as an offensive assistant with the Indianapolis Colts. Reich also coached quarterbacks and wide receivers at points with the Colts before moving on to the Arizona Cardinals and the Chargers. He is a devout Christian who gives inspirational speeches that emphasize the role God has played in his life.
