About Hugh Freeze
Hugh Freeze is currently the head coach at Auburn University and known as one of the best offensive minds in college football. Originally from Mississippi, Freeze studied coaching and sports administration at the University of Southern Mississippi, and got his first coaching job as an offensive coordinator at a local high school. In 2005, Freeze moved up to the NCAA, securing a job as the tight ends and wide receiver coach at Ole Miss. Freeze left that job to become the head coach at Lambuth University, leading the team to two first-place finishes and a 20-5 overall record in two seasons.
In 2011, Freeze took the head coaching job at Arkansas State, where he led the Red Wolves to a 10-2 season and their first conference title since 2005. This success led Freeze to being named the 37th head coach in Ole Miss football history, instantly making a splash by bringing home the 5th ranked recruiting class during his first year. He had immediate on-field success as well, with the Rebels being ranked as high as second in the polls at one point during the 2014 season.
