Eric Morris Biography

Eric Morris is the head football coach at Oklahoma State University, celebrated for his quarterback development and explosive offenses. A Texas Tech standout under Mike Leach (2004–2008), Morris launched his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Houston (2010–2012), then coached wide receivers at Washington State (2011–2012). He rose as offensive coordinator at Texas Tech (2013–2015), East Carolina (2016–2017), and Arkansas (2017), mentoring stars like Patrick Mahomes and Baker Mayfield. Named head coach at Incarnate Word in 2017, he delivered a 6–5 debut, Southland Conference title, and FCS playoff berth, earning 2018 Coach of the Year honors. After a 2022 stint as Washington State's OC, Morris took over North Texas in 2023, posting a 22–15 record over three seasons on the cusp of the program’s first College Football playoff berth. On November 25, 2025, Morris was hired as Oklahoma State's 16th head coach, succeeding Mike Gundy after guiding UNT through the American Conference title game and potential playoff run.
