About Donnie Jones
Donnie Jones is the head men's basketball coach at Stetson University. Jones had stints as an assistant coach at Dayton and Wichita State before taking the Hatters job. He previously spent time in Central Florida as the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Central Florida. Jones took the Knights to three 20-win seasons. During his time at UCF, the team knocked off opponents like Florida, UConn, and Memphis. Prior to coming to Orlando, Jones was the head coach at Marshall for three seasons. In his final campaign, the Thundering Herd went 24-10 and 11-5 in Conference USA with future NBA big man Hassan Whiteside. Jones gained great notoriety as an assistant for Billy Donovan, first at Marshall and then with the Gators. Florida won two national titles during his time as an assistant coach in Gainesville. The Point Pleasant, West Virginia native started his coaching career at his alma mater, Pikeville.
