About Donnie Avery
Donnie Avery is a former NFL wide receiver. Prior to his time in the NFL, Avery played collegiately at the University of Houston for four years. As a freshman, Avery was named to the Conference USA All Freshman team after starting 11 games and recording 18 catches for 343 yards. His best college season came during his 2007 senior season, as he caught 91 passes for a school and conference record 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns. This performance earned him All Conference USA honors, and he was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Avery recorded 53 catches for 674 yards and three touchdowns, earning the Rams’ Rookie of the Year award. Avery would go on to play three seasons with the Rams before signing with the Indianapolis Colts in 2012, where he would catch Andrew Luck’s first career touchdown. The following season, Avery signed with the Kansas City Chiefs./p>
