About Deuce Vaughn
Deuce Vaughn is an NFL running back for the Dallas Cowboys, and the shortest back ever drafted since the league started tracking Combine measurements. Standing at 5'5" and weighing 176 pounds, he hails from Fayetteville, Arkansas, having moved frequently due to his father's career as a college football coach. He excelled in football and track, breaking the school’s single-season rushing record as a senior with 1,938 yards, 589 receiving yards, and 25 touchdowns.
A 3-star recruit, he chose Kansas State University over multiple scholarship offers. Vaughn became a standout in the "Little Apple", setting school records for receptions (116) and receiving yards (1,280) by a running back, ranking second in career rushing yards (3,604), and becoming the first Wildcat with 1,000 rushing and 1,000 receiving yards in a career. He was a consensus All-American in 2022.
He has appeared in 14 games over two seasons for the Cowboys. Despite his diminutive size, Vaughn’s explosiveness, vision, and pass-catching ability draw comparisons to former Kansas State star Darren Sproles. His path inspires other undersized athletes who pack heart and deliver extensively, even if they have a more petite frame.
