David Duval

David Duval was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida and attended Episcopal High School.  During his senior year he won the 1989 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship and then matriculated to Georgia Tech University where he became a four-time NCAA first-team All-American, two-time ACC Player of the Year and 1993 National Player of the year.  Duval turned pro in 1993 and recorded two wins on the Nike Tour during his first professional season.  Eventually he joined the PGA Tour and won his first event in 1997 at the Michelob Championship at Kingsmill.  The following year he became the PGA Tour leading money winner and won the Vardon Trophy and Byron Nelson Award in 1998 as the tour’s top player.  That year he placed second at the Masters Tournament and would go on to have a huge 2001 season in which he finished as the runner up at the Masters, won The Open Championship and finished tied for 10th at the PGA Championship.  Thus far he has won 19 times as a pro and earned over $18 million in career earnings.
