About Danny Tartabull
Danny Tartabull is a former MLB outfielder who played 13 seasons in the MLB with six different teams. Born in Puerto Rico, Tartabull was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the third round of the 1980 MLB Draft. Tartabull spent four seasons in the minor leagues before finally making his MLB debut in 1984, playing sparingly between the main club and the minors until officially breaking the starting lineup in 1986, hitting .270 with 25 homeruns and 96 RBI, making him one of the top rookies that season. In 1987, the Mariners traded Tartabull to the Kansas City Royals, where he would play even better, batting .309 with 34 homers and 101 RBI. This great season solidified Tartabull as one of the top power hitters in the league, and he was voted an All Star in 1991. For the next six seasons, Tartabull would play for the Yankees, Athletics, White Sox, and Phillies before retiring in 1997, ending his career with a .273 batting average, 262 homeruns, and 925 RBI.
