About Dan Hurley
Dan Hurley is one of the top college basketball coaches in the country and has built a legacy at UConn. Hurley led the Huskies to back-to-back national championships in 2023 and 2024. Following the second title campaign where UConn went 32-3, he was named Big East Coach of the Year and the Naismith Coach of the Year.
Hurley initially rose to prominence in coaching while leading Rhode Island to the Sweet Sixteen in 2017 and returning to the NCAA Tournament in 2018. During his tenure with the Rams, they won one Atlantic 10 Tournament and won A10 regular season championship.
Hurley's success at Rhode Island came after his first college head coaching stint at Wagner College, where he went 13-17 in year one and 25-6 in year two. He previously served as the head coach at St. Benedict's Prep from 2001-10.
Hurley's initial college experience came as an assistant coach at Rutgers University. His first job in coaching was as an assistant coach under his father, Hall of Famer Bob Hurley Sr., at St. Anthony High School in New Jersey.
Hurley played collegiate basketball at Seton Hall University before transitioning to coaching. His understanding of the game from a player's perspective has contributed to his success as a coach.
