About Dan Dierdorf
Dan Dierdorf is a retired football player who spent 13 seasons in the league, all with the St. Louis Cardinals. Prior to his time in the NFL, Dierdorf was a three-year starter at the University of Michigan, helping the Wolverines to a 25-6 record and a Big Ten Championship in 1969. Dierdorf was a one time All American, and was considered to be one of the top offensive linemen in college football during his time at UM. In the 1971 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Cardinals selected Dierdorf in the second round, and he would remain with the team throughout his career. In 13 seasons, Dierdorf was a six-time Pro Bowler and five time First Team All-Pro. He was the NFC offensive lineman of the year for three straight seasons between 1976 and 1978, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1996, cementing him as one of the game’s best offensive lineman. Following his retirement in 1983, Dierdorf became a broadcaster, where he has served various roles including his current job as Michigan football radio broadcaster.
