Damar Hamilin Biography

Damar Hamlin captured the thoughts and prayers of the nation when he went down on Monday Night Football late in what had been a breakout second season. Hamlin collapsed on the field and had to be revived by medical personnel. He had suffered cardiac arrest and was taken away in an ambulance. In the days that followed, Hamlin made impressive steps in his recovery while staying in a Cincinnati hospital. 

Up to that point, Hamlin had been a revelation on the field for the Super Bowl-contending Bills, collecting 91 total tackles. That came after a rookie season, where he saw limited action. Hamlin was originally a sixth-round pick of Buffalo in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh. He was an All-ACC Second Team pick in 2020 for the Panthers.
