About Curtis McGriff
Curtis McGriff is a former defensive lineman for the National Football League in the 1980’s. He was born in 1958 in Donalsonville, Georgia and grew up in Alabama. In Alabama, he graduated high school in 1976 with four years of football under his belt and went on to play at the University of Alabama. His career college highlight was defeating Penn State at the Sugar Bowl in 1978. After graduating college, McGriff signed with the New York Giants in 1980. Earning all-rookie team that same year, he stayed with the Giants for eight seasons and won a Super Bowl Championship with them. For his final professional season in 1987, McGriff was traded to the Washington Redskins. That same year he announced his retirement from the game and currently teaches at a correctional school along with doing charity work, specifically for the organization known as Kidney Benefits.
