About Crystal Kelly
Crystal Kelly is a former professional basketball player in the WNBA. Standing 6’2” she fittingly plays forward in the league. Kelly was born and raised in Kentucky and played high school basketball for Sacred Heart Academy, where she was well known as a WBCA All-American. She went on to play for Western Kentucky University and even broke the school’s record for career rebounds. By the end of her college career, Kelly had earned a place in the top 25 career scorers in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history and graduated as the Sunbelt Player of the Year with a degree in public relations. Right out of college, Kelly was selected in the third round of the 2008 NBA Draft. Originally chosen by the Houston Comets, she was very quickly traded to the Sacramento Monarchs and played the remainder of her professional career on three teams, including the Detroit Shock and the San Antonio Silver Stars. Kelly is currently the assistant women’s basketball coach at Xavier University.
